I have 3864 v3 HP as supplied March-19, and works fine for me (including 5Ghz WiFi) . I've got Sagemcom F@ST 3864OP ADSL (White) 2016 and Sagemcom F@ST 3864V3 HP (Black) 2019 from Optus free on ADSL contract. That's why connecting the Optus modem-router until incoming calls are being received is a very wise first step. I hooked everything up just fine and setup my devices etc and it worked. It has minimal features but will keep using it while we have our home phone line. See a problem? So let me first say i'm not against what they do here I,m on a 50 plan but can only get 33, but I,m only paying for the 25 speed, so not to fussed. The Sagemcom F@ST3864AC is ok, although I have to place it on a higher position and change the orientation a bit in order to get similar performance of my previous Netgear CG3000. They really need to switch their modems out so I can use their NBN modem but one that doesn't constantly drop the wifi and will allow things like my XBOX one to connect via ethernet. After reading a lot of different posts on different forums about how Optus modems, routers, where to put ethernet switches and the general troubles people have had with Optus, I was most concerned yesterday when I had several drop outs and could watch the NBN modem reset after each one. I'm in a NSW country city on Optus FTTN. I understand there might be a 2.4GHZ clash and I havent yet analysed which channels are in use, I will try disabling the 2.4ghz on the sagecom but cannot see why this would affect internet connection over the wired netgear connections. My mistake was trying to set a static IP on the Optus router, not the R7000. PCs on the LAN (Cat6) had slow boot & no internet access although IP was allocated. I received a credit on my Optus account for the cost of the router I purchased to replace the flaky Sagemcom. For maximum internet speed and reliability, use the ethernet cable.
